//—————- END BEATPORT PLAYER ————————-

Patrick Wilcox has been djing for over 10 years now. since the age of 14 he knew he wanted to be a musician and the electronic sounds of the early 90’s opened his eyes to a musical form that only required 1 person to perform….Himself. starting in Toronto’s rave scene at an early age, he quickly began getting gigs for smaller production companies, slowly gaining more knowledge about sound and stage presence. he opened and closed parties for local and international talents like Nautigroove (cincinatti), O-zone (detroit), D-monic (toronto), Marty McFly (toronto), OS..2 (toronto), Dr. Trance (toronto), and others. by the year 2000 he became involved with djshows.com, an internet radiostation based in toronto, working with the likes of Dedley Hedley, Alex P, and Drag-N-Fly. Mismanagement led to him to abandon the project and move closer to his family in Sudbury, Ontario. Through Djshows.com he had met a few djs (Impact, Elicit, Oysterixxx) that ran a production company in Sudbury. JitterJaw Productions (www.Jitterjaw.com) picked him up as an out of town dj, than added him to their roster upon arrival in Sudbury. Through the help of Jitterjaw, Patrick met every Dj and Dance Music fan in Sudbury, becoming one of the most booked Djs in the city. Playing a range of almost every style of dance music. Patrick creates a story every time he gets on stage, entertaining the pickiest of music fans with his abiity to mix, program, and layer different styles flawlessly. Since 2002 Patrick has been working alongside the very talented DJ & Producer REKKA (Claude Demers). together in production as well as DJing they go by the name of DPX, and are the creators of a DJ/Production collective known as Digital Soldiers. covering a wide spectrum of music with his unique blends of Techno (hard and not so hard), House, Trance, Electro, & Progressive, as well as dj sets covering every style of club music that’s tailored for each show, encompassing several different styles in one set. Techno, trance, house, breaks, jungle, Drum & Bass, hiphop, Metal/Rock…Patrick is now signed to Don’t Look Productions (dontlookproductions.ca), a digital music label based out of Toronto, showcasing his Progressive House & Electro productions. 2008 saw the release of 15 Original Productions & 1 remix of Rekka’s “I Say You Say”. The original mix hit 28 on beatport’s Electro top 100. and all mixes have been posted on Youtube due to it’s popularity. 2009 looks to be an even bigger year for Patrick Wilcox, with more remixes, originals, and a lot more solo work be released!
